cb2“We would not have been ready for our race without our weather seminar with Lee. As we trained for 6 months to do the TransPac Race, a 2,250 NM race from LA to Hawaii, learning how to both read and interpret the weather was a most crucial part of our training. The 6 days we spent with Lee have been some of the best training I have had in my navigation and off-shore sailing career. From learning how to understand low and high pressure systems work, to tactically handling squalls, Lee was able to give us a huge edge over our competition. Even though Lee?s specialty is interpreting 500 millibar charts and upper level flow, he has the ability to explain anything to anyone, regardless of your meteorological skills. Lee gave us a huge boost to our racing careers, and I hope I get to work with him in the future. I strongly recommend getting together with Lee for any one of his course whether you are starting to cruise offshore, or are a serious offshore racer.

Morning Light was a TransPac52 sailboat, a 52 foot racing sailboat, which sailed the TransPac Race in July 2007. The team was 11 young sailors ranging in age from 18-23 years old. They placed 3rd in their division competing against seasoned professionals.”
