The day after the big Seattle Boat Show, Lee Chesneau will be offering the following practical hands-on 3-hour workshops. Register now to gain self-reliance in interpreting and navigating marine weather situations. No prerequisites required!




Surface Pressure Chart Workshop

This 3-hour long workshop takes an in-depth look at surface pressure charts. Based on reviewing additional surface pressure analyses & forecast chart symbols, there will be practice exercises on being able to identify the specific weather conditions associated with the map symbols.

Understanding the 500 mb Workshop

We will go deep into discussion to further your understanding of this important upper air chart. Specifically, in addition to the 500 mb station plot, we will delve more into the 500 mb components; altitude versus pressure, iso-height contour spacing, wind barb minimum values and their spacing, as well as iso-height labeling.

Tropical Cyclone (Hurricane) Basics & the
1-2-3 Rule for Avoidance Seminar/Workshop

This seminar & workshop will discuss the basics of tropical cyclone (hurricane) systems & their impacts on the Eastern North Pacific Ocean (Mexican West Coast), & sometimes even Hawaii. We introduce the 1-2-3 Rule for avoidance, concentrating on the 34 knot wind radii. We will also breakdown the Tropical Cyclone (Hurricane) Message known as the TCM, for interpretation, clarity, & application.
